“You cannot step into the same river twice.”
– Heraclitus

The exhibition Panta RheiRäume, die wir (nicht) tragen is based on the philosophy of Heraclitus, who recognized constant change as a fundamental principle. The concept of “everything flows” symbolizes the transience of the world and human experience, as well as the ongoing search for stability amidst continuous change.
Dijana Engelmann explores change on physical, emotional, social, and historical levels through her installations made of clay, metal, and printmaking. Space is investigated as a carrier of memory and transformation, while the body also reveals traces of erosion and change. The works invite deep reflection on change, sustainability, and adaptation—both in the external environment and within the inner spaces of the individual.
In her works, including the series Tiramol and ZILLEBÄCKER, Dijana addresses socially relevant themes such as migration, labor rights, and social structures. Her artistic practice follows a consistent ecological and sustainable approach.

The experimental intaglio techniques, especially thermal engraving, produce prints that reflect real and fictional places and objects—those where the artist has lived or which no longer exist today. Thus, the works open up complex perspectives on transience, memory, and the construction of space and collective identity.
