An Exploration of Industrial Heritage
My Stop Motion 2020
On Friday, 19th June 2020, a video exhibition of GIF animations, entitled “IndustriAll”, was held at the Miner Borc monument in Labin (HR). This exhibition represents the culmination of a GIF animation competition of the same name, which was initiated by the Metamedij association and was open to all interested parties, irrespective of their artistic training or experience. The competition was organised as part of the participatory cultural programmes of the Lamparna Social and Cultural Centre project, which is co-funded by the European Social Fund and aims to promote social inclusion.
The work, entitled “My Stop Motion,” is based on the theme of industrial heritage. The shipyard industry in Trogir, colloquially known as “Skver,” where Dijana Engelmann spent her formative years, was privatised and underwent a significant transformation, becoming a prominent manufacturer of mega-yachts. The objective of the project, entitled “My Stop Motion,” was to capture moments from the past that are closely connected to the shipyard industry in Trogir, colloquially known as “Skver.”
