16. Vizura Aperta 2016

The 16th edition of the visual and audio media festival, Vizura Aperta, is scheduled to take place from 16 to 19 August 2016 on the island of Zlarin. The selection of works on the theme of tourism, which will be showcased at the festival, will facilitate an examination of the specific challenges facing Adriatic tourism. The festival is curated by Davorka Perić.

The following paragraphs provide an overview of the festival and its programme.
Vizura Aperta is a festival whose programme and workshop themes are derived from the specific social and geographical environment in which the festival is held. The programme for this year focuses on a number of key themes, including tourism, the impact of different forms of content, construction, neglect and the phenomenon of depopulation. It also addresses the issue of the disappearance of the indigenous way of life and the occupation of content and people. The Vizura Aperta festival, which has been held in the Istrian border town of Momjan/Momian for fifteen years, is taking place this year for the first time on the island of Zlarin, which has thus far resisted the encroachment of brutal forms of tourism.
